Research Director
Dr Furuya-Kanamori is a medically trained clinical epidemiologist, NHMRC fellow, and Senior Research Fellow at The University of Queensland Centre for Clinical Research (UQCCR) focusing on travel medicine specifically in the areas of vaccine preventable diseases and antimicrobial resistance, and research synthesis (i.e. meta-analysis).
His goal is to improve travellers’ wellbeing through evidence-based changes in clinical practice. His research work aims to optimise vaccine delivery in travellers and to reduce the risk of antimicrobial resistant importation by travellers.
Prof Colleen Lau is a travel medicine doctor and infectious disease epidemiologist at the University of Queensland School of Public Health. Her research is focused on optimising prevention, control, and elimination of infectious diseases. Her work includes research in clinical travel medicine, emerging infectious diseases, and neglected tropical diseases.

Dr Deborah Mills MBBS MPHTM graduated from University of QLD. She has worked in area of travel medicine since 1988 in her clinic in Brisbane. She has a passion for research that provides answers to clinical dilemmas, and aims to make travel health preparation for travellers as painless and cost-effective as possible, so travellers can fulfil their travel dreams.

Christine Mills BSc graduated from QUT. She works as administration support at Dr Deb The Travel Doctor. She is an essential and practical member of the team ensuring that procedures are followed, data is entered and we all stay on track.
